Some
of our visitors' comments taken from our most recent Visitors'
Book:
''The
cottage is lovely. Well equipped, cosy, spacious, lovely garden
and a real suntrap at the back door. It was good to be able
to lock the bikes in the garage.''
Peebles, July 2011
''We had a really lovely week in and around Caberfeidh
- our first time in this beautiful and cosy cottage. It has
everything one needs and much more.''
Glasgow, July 2011
''Lovely holiday, amazing weather all week which was not expected
in October! Mellon Udrigle beach, a walk to Gairloch, Flowerdale
Falls and lots of pub visits!! Don't want to go home!''
Bedfordshire, Oct 2010
''Generally a wet week, but Tuesday was glorious in Torridon.
Enjoyed 3 interesting walks: Around the loch at the back of
the Poolewe campsite; An ascent of Stac Pollaidh North of Ullapool
in changing weather conditions and a more serious climb of Ben
Alligin in Torridon -, wonderful views but lots of effort! Halfway
up Stac Pollaidh in thick mist, virtually bumped into a pair
of large deer - don't know who was most surprised - but the
stag made a move towards me so I made a tactical retreat, those
large antlers looked intimidating!''
Bath, Sept 2010
''Another lovely holiday in Wester Ross. The weather has been
wonderful with only one day of rain. Visited all our favourite
beaches and walks. Took the RHIB boat [Hebridean Whale Cruises]
out to the northern tip of Skye - no whales but basking sharks
and a pod of common dolphin putting on a fantastic display!
Eaten far too much at The Sheiling in Gairloch and gorged ourselves
on Connie and Michael's delicious cakes in the Bridge Cafe [Poolewe].
All in all a fantastic holiday, we expect nothing less whatever
the weather and a nice roaring fire to doze off to in the evening.
Looking forward to next time, many thanks.''
West Lothian, Sept-Oct 2010
''A total spectrum of weather, sunbathing, drenched and nearly
blown over into the water make a satisfying background to any
holiday. The black throated divers have come back to the loch
earlier this year, 12 of them and 1 in the river. Thank you
again Caroline.''

''House lovely and very nice relaxing week in the best area
of Scotland! Weather very mixed but we still got out and about.
Nice walk up Loch Kernsary to Fionn Loch, though the walk round
to and down the River Ewe is lovely too. Thanks again for the
use of your lovely house.''
July 2010
''Our second visit to Caberfeidh for a relaxing break.
Did the usual hill walking, mountain biking and this time kayaking.
No rain at all - not a drop, at least during daylight hours.
Back again soon!!''
Dunfermline, Oct 2009
''Great fun, despite fairly mixed weather. A feast of mushrooms
- Chanterelles are so prolific we got bored of eating them!
Highlights include: Dry Island boat trip - well worth the money,
do it! Red Point beach, collecting mussels, crag hopping at
Cove, catching our own mackerel, cooking up a huge variety of
feasts here in the kitchen....eating for free!! We all love
it here, the children and the dog are in their element. The
midges did their worst but nothing can put us off coming back
for more next year. Thanks very much.''
Somerset, Aug 2009
''Wonderful holiday, this amazing beautiful area has worked
its magic again! Great homely cottage, so comfortable, thanks
Caroline for all the thoughtful touches. Lovely weather all
week, exhilarating walks - Kernsary Loch, Old Tollie Road and
Fairy Lochs. Stunning beaches: Mellon Udrigle, Red Point and
kite flying on Gairloch beach. Best of all saw eagles, deer,
seals and a Minke whale - just otters for next time! Don't want
to leave.....hope to be back.''
Northants, Sept 2009
''What a lovely and homely cottage! Obviously a well
organised and well run holiday let. A charming and comfortable
place to be. This area must be one of the most beautiful places
in the world. Have seen a golden eagle, sheep, a whole herd
of deer (about 12), seals, sea trout jumping in the river. The
kids loved it, thank you - until next time.

''Had a fabulous week of weather bookended by two days of rain.
Sunburnt from sitting on empty beaches and returning home with
lovely memories. Cottage was fabulous, a right home from home.
The bairns loved the garden as did the dog and the sunsets at
the end of the road will linger long in the memory.''
Edinburgh July 2009
''Sunburnt from the early part of the week but a little misty
from the heavy squalls later. Enjoyed our stay in this well
equipped cottage in a lovely location. Greatly appreciated the
scenery from the turquoise seas to the ever changing mountains
and valleys which not only differ at every turn of the road
but with every change of the weather and light.''
Sunderland, June 2009
'This has been our first visit to the area staying in a cottage,
and we've appreciated its comfort and convenience. We've been
impressed by the service and stock in the village stores and
general friendliness of the area.''
